Pender County Residents Encouraged to Participate in Medication Take Back Event Oct. 24

Pender County residents have an opportunity to safely dispose of unused or expired medications during a Medication Take Back Event on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rocky Point Pavilion Pharmacy.

The event offers residents a free, convenient, and anonymous way to dispose of medications that are no longer needed. Prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements will be accepted, with no questions asked.

The collection will take place at Rocky Point Pavilion Pharmacy, located at 7910 U.S. 117, Suite 110, in Rocky Point.

Needles and other sharps, liquids, lotions, and inhalers will not be accepted.

Keeping unused or expired medications in the home can increase the risk of accidental poisoning and medication misuse. Proper disposal helps protect children, families, and the community while reducing the potential environmental impact of improperly discarded medications.

Residents are encouraged to take a few minutes to check their medicine cabinets, gather medications they no longer need, and bring them to the Oct. 24 event.
