COMPTON, CA, UNITED STATES, September 16, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The 3rd Annual Compton's Hub City International Film Festival (CHCIFF) returns September 25-27, 2026, bringing filmmakers, musicians, educators, entertainment professionals, youth, families, and community leaders together to celebrate Compton's culture, creativity, history, and future.

With St. John's Community Health as Title Sponsor and Ladies Touch, Inc. as fiscal sponsor, this year's theme, "Ladies Touch: Women in Entertainment," is represented by Festival Ambassador Camille Tucker, an acclaimed writer, director, producer, NAACP Image Award nominee, and Compton native.
Opening night features the 50th Anniversary Encore Screening of Car Wash, with director Michael Schultz and select cast members participating in a special Q&A, followed by a documentary celebrating hip-hop legends JJ Fad and a 1970s Disco/Funk celebration at Odyssey 21.

Saturday begins with opening words from Jim Mangia, President and CEO of St. John's Community Health, along with Festival Ambassador Camille Tucker, Assemblymember Mike Gipson, and ML Davis, Founder, and showcases films by Compton Unified School District students and youth filmmakers, along with a St. John's Community Health documentary and Q&A featuring Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly Mitchell and the World Premiere of Howard Scott: Straight Into Compton, directed by Howard Scott Jr.

The Women in Entertainment programming features Landi Maduro's "The Filmmaker's Revenue Blueprint" and producer and casting director Monica R. Cooper's Actors Workshop, providing practical guidance on entertainment careers and opportunities.
CHCIFF also explores the future of filmmaking through an AI Filmmakers Q&A with Dwayne Alexander Smith, Ben Ramsey, and Ayanna Henderson, while the Compton Deltas' Annual Jazz Concert features Will Downing.

Sunday features speaker and producer Desreta Jackson, known for Young Celie in The Color Purple, the premiere of CHOPS directed by Hakim A. Khalfani, and a closing awards ceremony honoring filmmakers, artists, contributors, and community partners.
