TALLAHASSEE, FL, UNITED STATES, June 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Florida Association of Healthy Start Coalitions (FAHSC) and Sunshine Health partner to deliver a campaign aimed at increasing awareness of maternal health warning signs among expectant mothers in Florida. The goal of the campaign is to reduce maternal and infant mortality and improve birth outcomes for Florida moms and babies. Florida earned a D+ in the 2025 March of Dimes Report Card, with a preterm birth rate of 10.7%. The report also notes that the state’s infant mortality rate is 6.1%, and its maternal mortality rate is 24.5%, ranking 28th in the nation.Through a series of informative advertisements and an educational webpage, the campaign provides essential information about common warning signs for serious maternal health complications, such as high blood pressure, heart conditions, and postpartum depression. FAHSC harnesses the power of over 30 years as a leading nonprofit in the state of Florida to improve the lives of families through services developed to meet the needs of pregnant and post-partum women, fathers, infants and young children up to age three. Sunshine Health, a wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation, is a Florida health plan that serves more than 2.4 million members statewide. Together, FAHSC and Sunshine Health form a dynamic partnership as they make a difference in the lives of Florida families and ensure that every baby has a healthy start.
